The Republican US Senate Primary on Tuesday offers us four high quality candidates whom I believe can win that seat come November. The choice may be difficult for some, but for me and 37 other state Assembly members, there is no question.
I will cast my vote for Jeff Fitzgerald because he is the most principled, proven, and courageous candidate on the ballot.
I have served with Fitz in the State Assembly for the past four years. As Speaker, he worked with Governor Walker to pass the most far-reaching reforms in a generation. When the State Senators fled the state, when the Capitol was under occupation, Fitz was a rock. Because of his leadership, Wisconsin has a balanced budget and lower taxes.
Our country is on the road to fiscal ruin, and we need a fighter like Fitz in Washington.
Fitz spent eight years in the pit of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and understands the free market. That real world experience, along with his record of accomplishments in state government—Fitz is a leader that is sorely needed in DC. And unlike his opponents, he has stayed out of the mud and run a positive campaign based on ideas.
Can he beat Tammy Baldwin? She, the most liberal, tax and spend, bury us in debt, left wing, anti-free market candidate of the Democrat Party? Of course he can. As we have - twice - voted for our courageous Governor Walker, the voters of Wisconsin will show the nation that it is time to return to the principles of our founding fathers. Jeff Fitzgerald is a proven leader, and will beat Tammy Baldwin in November.
Jeff Fitzgerald is my guy.
