Knodl to Run for Assembly
Fights for Job Creation and Smaller Government
GERMANTOWN, WI - Today, State Representative Dan Knodl announced his bid for re-election in the 24th Assembly District. Knodl’s campaign will emphasize job creation, smaller government, and a balanced state budget.
“As a small business owners and lifelong resident of the 24th Assembly District, I know what it truly means to take risks and to stand up for what is right,” said Knodl. “We need to give entrepreneurs the tools necessary to get our economy back on track”. Knodl fought against Governor Doyle’s agenda which raised taxes by $5 billion and increased spending during the last session.
“I am proud to say that I have stood up to fight for taxpayers at home and throughout Wisconsin,” said Knodl. “I fought against Madison liberals and insiders who believe that growing government was the best way to get us out of this recession.” Representative Knodl introduced numerous pieces of legislation designed to get Wisconsin working again, reduce the size of government and increase local control. Unfortunately, Democrats who control all of Wisconsin government ignored these common sense reforms.
Knodl has spent the past few months going door-to-door meeting with residents and businesses to hear first hand about what people are thinking. “I continually hear from people that we cannot continue to grow government and spend money we don’t have to get out of this recession, and I completely agree. We need to get government back to the basics so our economy can get back on track,” concluded Knodl.
The 24th Assembly District includes the communities of Richfield, Germantown, Menomonee Falls and Butler. The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 2nd. Knodl the Right Choice for Fiscal Responsibility
GERMANTOWN, WI – Next year Wisconsin legislators will be tasked with finding a solution to a multi billion dollar deficit left by Wisconsin Democrats. With families struggling, it is imperative that Legislators work to find savings from within, without taking more from citizens. Representative Dan Knodl (R-Germantown) is committed to working for the taxpayers and citizens to get Wisconsin back on the right track.
“Over the last two years, Democrats have continued to go straight to the pocketbooks of struggling families and businesses to fund their appetite for more spending,” said Knodl. “If we are going to solve this crisis, we need to roll up our sleeves and work within our means, and find innovative solutions that don’t involve raising taxes.”
An example of one of these innovative solutions was recently profiled in an article by stateline.org. It talked about how Wisconsin healthcare professionals and providers worked together to save the state $625 million by prioritizing services and finding efficiencies. The article points out how by working with those on the front line, there are ways to cut costs while maintaining quality.
“This effort shows that there are savings to be had in Madison, and that our families need an experienced, common sense legislator who will work to find these savings,” said Knodl. “As a small business owner for over 25 years, I know what it takes to create a real budget, and make the tough decisions now, without passing them off to future generations.”
